Apple Pie is a fairly original and playable game, and I recommend it unreservedly. Read Review
The peace and tranquillity of a small mid-west town in America is shattered by bands of rogue aliens (probably communists) invading the town and committing the ultimate sacrilege - stealing the stars from the national flag. Our wholesome hero who has been interrupted while eating his blueberry pie by this outrageous invasion, rushes for his tank and composes his forces. With your help, he must beat off the aliens and thus protect the American constitution.
The setting of the game is a small village in America. Waves of aliens are attacking the village and stealing the stars from the national flag. Your task as a player is to destroy them before they achieve their goal. Each new wave of aliens is progressively stronger and more intelligent.
You are in command of a battle tank, which is the village's sole defence. The tank can move forward and turn at junctions between buildings. You initially have three lives, but a life is lost if you collide with or are shot by an alien. It is also fatal to drive over the flag, or to let the aliens steal all the stars. An extra life is awarded for every ten screens completed successfully.
