Text layouts look acceptable. But cricket is slow enough in the first place, without a game about it that goes even slower than the real thing... It's just not cricket.

Guardian Angel (Codemasters)

A tiresome fighting game.

Tiger Road (Kixx)

When it comes to martial arts/platform games, then this has it all... And it has that single most important quality - it's infuriatingly addictive.

Puzznic (Ocean)

Puzznic won't win any prizes for looks, but in terms of sheer gameplay it's a winner.

Time Machine (Activision)

A timeless concept to keep you going for ages.

California Games (Kixx)

Quite nice because it reminds you of summer, but the games themselves aren't a lot of cop. Not bad for the money as a compilation, though.

The Boxer (Cult Games)

It's got graphics, which is going one better than most management games, but that's not saying much. Quite simplistic, and only of interest to dedicated strategists.

Twin World (Ubisoft)

Cute and playable, certainly, but with only four colours on-screen, those hazards are just that bit too tricky to spot for my liking!

Computer Adventures: The Secret Art (Amazon Systems)

If you're serious about writing an adventure, then read it: your adventure will be easier to write and will be better.

The Last Days Of Doom (Topologika)

If you prefer a good old-fashioned challenging adventure with loads of well-thought-out logical puzzles, then buy this two-pack. Hezarin is large and well-written, and complements the science-fiction style of Last Days Of Doom well.
