Cybernoid II (Hewson)

A fine, fierce, fun game... If there is a criticism, it's that it lacks startling originality.

Savage (Firebird)

Huge, well animated and colourful sprites. It looks brilliant, it sounds brilliant and it is brilliant.

Fernandez Must Die (Imageworks)

Exceedingly enjoyable, looks terrific and sounds fabulous... Compared to Fernandez, Rambo is Mary Poppins!

Live And Let Die (Domark/Elite)

The best Bond game yet. Tricky at first, but not impossible.

Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge (Ocean)

At first glance, this isn't amazing but for waggling fans, it's worth a look.

Fire And Forget (Titus)

Big, bright and colourful... Lots of action, but little depth.

Pac-Mania (Grandslam)

Old game with newish graphics. Pac-Man has been around since way before the CPC and just changing it to a 3D game isn't really enough.

The Games: Winter Edition (Epyx/US Gold)

Good backdrops, as with all Epyx sports games, and good overall. But Winter Games is better.

Advanced Pinball Simulator (Codemasters)

It's for pinball fanatics only. It's just a high score game really.

Joe Blade II (Players)

Pace of play is a bit on the slow side but it's worth the price if you liked Joe Blade.

Supersports (Gremlin)

Sports sims freaks only. There's no long term challenge, unless you play against another player.

Alternative World Games (Gremlin)

Too expensive for what it is. And it takes days to load from cassette.

Rockford: The Arcade Game (Mastertronic Added Dimension)

If you haven't got any Boulderdash games you could do worse than spend your money on this. Otherwise wait for something more original.

Sabian Island (Skyslip)

You wander around and shoot things. Scrolling is poor... It'd be OK for £2, but not at £10.

Taito Coin-Op Hits (Imagine)

Four of the eight games included are particularly good: Bubble Bobbie, Arkanoid, Arkanoid II and Renegade.

Ocean Conqueror (Rack-It)

An inexpensive submarine simulation. And accelerated time does help to relieve the tedium.

Fish (Magnetic Scrolls)

The humour in the text is not forced into silliness, although it pushes its luck occasionally.
