The programmer of this should have been shot at birth! The colour scheme is horrendous, but the real problem is that the scrolling rarely keeps up with your movements... When you advance it often takes a few seconds for the screen to catch up! Read Review
Walking along the screen scrolls character by character, which makes it very jerky, and with it being slow to boot the game is not a joy to play. Read Review

Risen from the grave, you are presented with Supernatural powers beyond this world. Altered Beast is a multi-load game. Each level will be loaded as you complete the previous one. This means that to enjoy continuous play, you must keep your Altered Beast cassette in your cassette player.
In addition, on a cassette version the main game is on side 1, with the levels on side 2. When prompted, turn over the cassette and rewind to the start of side 2 and press play. When you lose all your lives, rewind the cassette to the start of side 2 and press play.
