Gyroscope (Melbourne House) (BBC/Electron)

A very dull game indeed. The collision detection is unbelievably bad and yet you frequently end up guiding your object over a deep ravine with complete safety! On top of that, the monsters flicker horribly and there is very little in the way of sound effects. But its worst defect is that, every so often, your gyroscope gets 'stuck' completely.

Wordplay (BBC Soft) (BBC/Electron)

Whilst it's a good way to introduce children to word processing at a young age, this utility is somewhat restricted by only allowing 23 line chunks of text. This shouldn't pose a problem for the age group in question.

Frak (Aardvark) (Acorn Electron)

A unique and enjoyable game... The screen designer offers the chance to be creative, to personalise games with large, intricate routes and to devise some nasty traps!

Woodbury End (Shards) (BBC/Electron)

If I had read the Woodbury End hype and paid for this game, I would be pretty furious.

Hyper Sports (Imagine) (BBC Model B)

Well-defined characters, careful use of colours and varied background scenery add up to a very professionally produced, exciting and challenging game.
