This is the best game ever made. Okay, it's the best puzzle game ever made. It's no San Andreas - as our screens may show but, nevertheless, this is an utterly engrossing puzzler that's worth every penny.
It's actually a PS2 version of a game you can get for free on the web but what makes it work with a price tag attached is the new modes incorporated - including an awesomely frantic two-player mode - and the fact that you can play it in spangly big-o-vision on your TV set. The concept is simple: there's a grid of animal faces jumbled up which you must flip back and forth into sets of three. When a trio is lined up, the set leaves the grid and more fall into view. Score as many matches as you can in the decreasing time limit, with each round leading you to a different grid with a faster timer and a bigger goal of animals to 'catch'.
The real difference, though, is that it can become incredibly fast paced, making for a much more exciting puzzler than any falling block puzzle game. The end result is thrilling. Flipping blocks to bump up the time limit, eyes manically searching the screen for the next trio to swing around, panicking as the seconds drain away, offers a huge, compelling challenge you'll keep coming back to.
There really is no other comparable thrill in the genre - which makes this a bargain-priced gem.
