The Official Everton Football Club Intelligensia

This unlikely sounding game isn't a licensed football simulator and isn't really anything to do with Everton FC. It's a football quiz and as such it's a welcome relief from the glut of mediocre football sims launched on the back of the World Cup this summer.

The game is played as a football match with each correct answer moving the ball further towards your opponent's goal. Failure to answer a question costs you a kick backwards or if you've made a particularly bad mistake, a goal against you.

The game features some neatly digitised graphics of players, adequate sound effects, and a weighty 1,700 questions. Amfas tell us that another 1,500 questions are being prepared for Christmas (cost £9.99).

Unfortunately, the game lacks any sign of woolly v-neck sweaters and has nothing to match the breathless insensitivity of David Coleman, so unless you're A Question Of Sport fanatic or a major football buff only the £200 prize money for the highest score acts as an incentive.
