The Humiliation Of Akemi Ito

I can probably sum up Akemi Ito by saying that it's just another erotic slideshow from The Horny Elk. It wasn't too long ago that we saw the release of ROTAM II which, at the time, was the biggest demo of its type for the BBC/Electron. Akemi is clearly built on exactly the same codebase, which might explain how its publishers have managed to put it together in what, for them, seems almost record time. As with ROTAM II, it features almost film quality visuals, lots of sexualised violence... and very little else.

Also like ROTAM II, these images are originally from an Urotsukidoji movie, the famous hentai quadrilogy by Toshio Maeda. The Akemi Ito sequence, however, is from the iconic opening to the very first episode, the first animation ever to be rated NC-17 in America and which was originally cut to ribbons by the BBFC in the United Kingdom... in the days pre-Internet.

Originally I wondered if THE had rushed this demo out, as it just starts as soon as you boot the first disc. There are no optional subtitles as with previous slideshows. However having watched the original movie again (for research purposes, you understand) the scene doesn't have any dialogue. (Well, apart from demonic roaring and Akemi's orgasmic moaning, that is.) So I guess THE were sticking to the source material and it thus made sense not to introduce it.

The Humiliation Of Akemi Ito

As per ROTAM II, the demo comes on three DFS discs, or two ADFS L ones. If you opt for the DFS version then you get interrupted by disc swap instructions every 16 screens. If you opt for ADFS you mount both discs simultaneously and the demo just plays on a loop.

As for the demo itself, well, it's another epic violation of a Japanese student by a multiple-penis yokai. And, although the art style is very different to ROTAM, the same care has been taken converting it to four colours.

Do I recommend it? Well, in this world of cancel culture I wouldn't dare to say. THE has a habit of always producing something that it's very hard to look away from, whilst also being very hard to take seriously. Akemi is no exception. If you've never seen the movie Urotsukidoji: Legend Of The Overfiend, or you think the Acorn machines can't really "do" porn then it will surely blow your mind. However, as the only reviewer who ever dares to report on THE's releases, it seems clear to me that all other Beebsters actually prefer to quietly forget their existence.
