Space Fortress

You are a space games fan with a basic Vic looking for some real action: Space Fortress is certainly a good "shoot-'em-up" requiring timing, together with an awareness and anticipation of the enemy's tricky flight paths. There are four waves: the green suicide squad; blue sidewinders (these and the following drop bombs); cyan swoopers and lastly, purple avengers.

Each formation attacks in a different manner in an effort to relieve you of a life. Your demise is marked by effective "thumping" sonics standing out from the background noise of cosmic wind. The high point is obviously the appearance of the eponymous "awesome mothership": Scrunch it quickly, before the force field has a chance to knit, then take the next step towards level 20.
