This program makes use of any sideways RAM fitted to perform fast disk copying. Very large chunks of data on the source disk is loaded into the sideways RAM and then saved onto the target disk. This method reduces the number of disk swaps required to copy a disk on a single drive.
Note: The program will only work with machines fitted with sideways RAM.
To generate the machine code program you need to select the SWRCopy icon from the Fast Access disk menu. The screen will display the listing as the code is assembled. Once it is finished you are asked to insert a disk in the drive and are shown a command which can be typed in (use the COPY and cursor keys for speed) to save the machine code to disk.
Now all you have to do is type *SWRCopy and the program will start.
Using The Copier
When asked for the source and destination drive numbers enter 0,1,2 or 3.
You will be asked if you want to use sideways RAM banks. Enter Y or N.
The computer will then display messages to inform you which disk needs to be inserted into the drive. Follow the instructions carefully until the copying is finished.
