The controls are so bad that they outweigh whatever good or interesting or intriguing things Pendula Swing may be trying to do elsewhere. There's a lot going on, and there are all kinds of ideas, but the only way to experience any of it is by dealing with constant frustration, and in the end it doesn't seem worth it.
