Get your motor running. Is it? Oh dear, you need a mechanic.

Maxxed Out Racing

If you're expecting a cheap and cheerful racing game - sort of like Need For Speed Underground on a budget - then we suggest you continue your search... there's nothing to see here. Move along.

Where does one even start with a game like this? The cars, although reasonable facsimiles of those you might see on any road, look like juiced-up Trabants and probably match them for handling.

Maximum Overdrive? This is Maximum Oversteer. Forget drift and grip, the only way to be sure of incident-free cornering is to slow to a virtual standstill - which is hardly realistic.

In Maxxed Out's favour is the fact that it does present a challenge. Competitors are extremely hard to beat, but why should you care? Leave it alone. Play something else.

Verdict

Totally unremarkable. A driving game with few redeeming features. It's cheap, sure. Problem is it's not very cheerful.
