Digressions

Many thanks for forwarding the latest EUG, which was much appreciated. As it has been some time since I last got in touch and, as there are a few items on the agenda, I thought I would burst into print with this little missive.

First of all, as you may know, I use the A3010, which allows me to read your disks under !65Host. I generally use Wordz or Impression for all my correspondence and Word Processing. I have, in the past, dug out View and run that under the Emulator when writing to you, but this time I though I would give Pipedream a bash and see if I can get familiar with it. It is also a derivative of View and allows me to save files in the View format. This saves me the hassle of running View and trying to remember how it works. It will be interesting to see how it comes out your end!

Secondly, a little request for inclusion in future EUGs. I noticed EUG #22 finished off with a bit of information on EUG and I was wondering if you could also include every issue information reminding us of the subscription coding (Mine was 3A2 this time!) and unless I go back to an old disk I've no chance of remembering what that means. Also, a reminder on how and what form you would like material sent in. Infrequent contacts like me tend, at my age, to forget such simple things!

Talking about old age and memory...

An old dear in an Old People's Home said to her 80+ male colleague: "If you let me put my hand down the front of your pyjamas, I'll do a trick by telling you your age."

"I bet you can't," he said. "But you can try."

She immediately stuck her hand down the front and grovelled around for quite some time and eventually said, "You're 86!"

"Cor! How the devil did you know that?" he asked.

"You told me yesterday," she said.

But I digress...

Thirdly, you requested information on Pineapple PCB and Printmaster. I have it to hand and will get you copies as soon as I get my hands on a photocopier. In the meantime, could I just confirm it is PCB and not Diagram (Also by Pineapple) that is required?

Fourthly, I'm on the lookout for an AP4 and a Slogger Rombox. I can't remember if it's a Rombox+ or not, but it's the one with four IC sockets and two cartridge slots on the top.

Many thanks and I look forward to EUG #24.

I will put your request into the 'Wanted' section. If you have no luck, you could try Slogger. They do still sell this item as far as I know.

I must say I'm surprised how strong the market for Elk and BBC stuff is, especially Elk.

Shall I digress? Hmm, maybe not.
