Kwik Snax

Dizzy's back. This time he attempts to re-unite his four chums, who've all had a rather rowdy argument over where to go on holiday. In fact, the argument was so rowdy it woke Zak, the evil wizard who gave 'em the old decent-sorcerers-are-trying-to-sleep routine and spirited them off to Iceland, Cloudland, Cuckooland and Zak's very own musty old dungeon. You're in charge of Dizzy - that now infamous egg with legs - who must take a trip to each world, complete five levels of arcade puzzle action and rescue a friend. When all four are rescued, that's it presumably. Except it isn't that easy.

If you've seen the arcade game Don't Pull or even that old chestnut Pengo, then this is familiar territory. Each level takes on a certain formula - you have to waddle around and scoff fruit or other goodies and push mobile blocks into marauding nasties. You also get hindered by immobile blocks and, occasionally, get rocketed to a bonus level when you eat the munchies in the order they flash.

Verdict

This is a pleasant, playful little ditty with lots going for it. The sprites are immensely colourful and there are some excellent backdrops. Kwik Snax is addictive with fiendishly difficult gameplay. Amusing and slick, superb value-for-money.
