Elvin Atombender, the evil genius who was up to no good in Impossible Mission, is back in this re-released sequel. As the inevitable macho superagent you've got to stop him at his headquarters.
The rooms are connected by corridors and lifts and each room is a maze of platforms, robots and furniture. You must search the furniture for pieces of a musical code while avoiding the robots. You can't destroy them without finding a time bomb or a mine. Once you find some pieces of the code you can use your pocket computer to help arrange them in the right sequence. You can then access the other towers in Atombender's stronghold and eventually disarm the missiles that he's launching against the entire world.
Impossible Mission 2 requires you to have arcade and puzzle-solving skills - and the two areas fit together nicely. Dodging the robots isn't simple - especially when you're trying to search a bookcase at the same time. And the puzzles are no walkover either. The graphics look as though they've been ported straight from an 8-bit, unfortunately, and some of the samples are a little fuzzy, but there's still a lot to keep you interested and it's well worth the money.
