Illusion, by Dr. J. Evans of Plymouth, Devon demonstrates a visual illusion. Fins on the ends of two straight lines distort the viewer's visual impression of their length.

The length of the lower of the two lines can be altered until the two lines are judged to be equal. The fins are then removed to show the lengths of the lines accurately.
