Guilty Gear Isuka is insane. Few other games enable you to fight as a lanky doctor who wears a paper bag on his head and fights with a giant scalpel, or as a dozen other nutcases. If it were as fun as it is barmy, it'd be a classic. But, inevitably, it's not.
Like most traditional beat-'em-ups, extended sessions tend to result in repetitive strain injury. Each character has lots of thumb-snapping special moves and, since rounds can include up to four players, bouts can last for ages. Plus it's easy to get confused - jump over your opponent and your character doesn't automatically turn around, leaving you wide open to attack.
In fact, the best bit of Guilty Gear Isuka isn't even the main game, it's the bonus side-scrolling fighter that's bundled as an extra. Sadly, even this isn't enough to make Guilty Gear Isuka worth a punt.
