This is an experience designed solely for baby gamers. But that shouldn't be an excuse for sub-standard design and no-thrills gameplay. Come on then, in the name of comprehensiveness, let's have it...
The Great Edgar Hunt, as it really is subtitled, is the most vanilla of old-skool platformers, daubed with the cel-shaded look of a cartoon series that's also well past its sell by date. What you get is a trio of playable characters (the Warner Brothers and their sister Dot) and a whisp of a plot that stays around just long enough to start you off, sprinting around film studio themed areas collecting everything from film canisters to Halloween pumpkins and Edgar (read 'Oscar') statuettes.
Frankly, even if you are a newborn gamer, there's precious little here to keep your fickle interest keen beyond the first rush of 'toon visuals. We're not being mean, or flippant. Your money is previous and you deserve better than a bland platformer that could have been developed four years ago for all the technical and creative verve on display.
Fancy a quality, child-friendly platform game at a budget price? Then we recommend the very first Jak & Daxter game, The Precursor Legacy. It genuinely is four years old, but infinitely fresher, more gripping and enjoyable than this. Shop around and you'll probably find it's cheaper too.
