The Bit At The Back

End Of The Year

Well, that's 1992 almost over ... where did all the time go??!! I'm sure you'll agree that, thanks to our numerous contributors, it has been a very good year for EUG, and 1993 looks as if it could be even better! So keep your news, views, letters, articles, etc coming!

I am pleased to announced that, at long last, I have finally acquired a Slogger Pegasus 400 Interface and disk system. So now you can send your submissions on any disk format (although 80 Track is preferred!).

Can I just say here that if you do have a disk system and you do have the View word processor, please use them to send your contributions! I'm not the world's fastest (or most accurate!) typist and the less time I have to spend over a smoking keyboard, the more time I can devote to User Group activities. The only drawback with this arrangement is that I can't always transfer software or View files to my own disks straight away and there is sometimes a long delay before disks are returned. So what I propose to do is send a new, blank disk back to you by return of post and keep your original disk (hopefully fully labelled with your name and the contents!) for later use! Can we give this a try please?!! Non-View owning tape users should continue to use paper (unless sending a long listing!).

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year! I'm off to take up my seasonal employment, which involves a large conifer, a tutu and a step ladder .....................

"T'was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, 'cept my AMX mouse..."

P.S. Very Old Joke

Question: How many computer programmers does it take to change a light bulb?
Answer: None, it's a hardware problem!
