In the forest, pooh is everywhere!
Winnie The Pooh: Adventures In The 100 Acre Wood
A small, furry bundle of loveliness, whose favourite food is sticky and stored in a ceramic pot. Who is this mysterious being? Pooh Bear of course! Christopher Robin's best friend has many adventures and problems to overcome in this game. He needs to seek out his pals - some of them will help him, whilst others need Pooh to be their hero!
Pooh On The Steps
Winnie The Pooh has been superbly animated in the game. The graphics are clear - it appears as though you are watching the cartoon. However, this illusion does not last long, as the game is extremely slow, with very little action in any part. Obviously meant for a younger audience, the movement are kept to a minimum, which could be seen as a good move if there was more variety in mini-games. Pooh must get very tired of simply walking along paths and across stepping stones, with the only addition being the ability to roll a dice. Even when the settings change and our bear is walking over water, for example (which looks great), the stepping stones are the same!
Pooh In The Honey
All of Pooh's mates are included so if you're a big fan of the clan then this game is for you! You must walk through the forest, collecting cards (which will help you later on) and finding new adventures along your way. There appear to be no fancy moves which you can command the bear to do yourself, but Master Pooh does get to sit down on some of his strolls to take part in his favourite pastime - eating yummy honey!
Annoyingly, sitting down means you lose two tums in the game and your opponent (one of your friends) gets to the end of the game first! With a little experience though, you can avoid the steps of temptation and get to the end destination before anyone else does.
Winnie The Pooh is ideal for you if you've a young 'un, a beginner on the Game Boy Color and have a love of all things bear-like. If you are an advanced Game Boy player though, you'll probably find this game pretty slow and frustrating, with little excitement and few rewards. It's unlikely to keep many of you quiet for long!
Second Opinion
I'm a big fan of the bear with little brain but this game is sorely lacking in fun. Old Pooh's never been one for running about madly, admittedly, but the slow pace here would suit a snail more than a honey-hungry bear!
A Sticky Situation
At one point in the game our hero, Pooh Bear, gets stuck in Rabbit's hole after eating too much honey. It's lucky that he's got such great mates, as he needs them all to help pull him out. It's no good him just having two or three friends either - his weight has increased so much due to the honey that only an army of friends will do!
