Tesla Vs. Edison

What if Pong had been made about 15 years later? It probably wouldn't be far off what we have here.

Tesla Vs. Edison is basically Pong but with some bells and whistles. Not only do you control the paddles to bounce the ball back and forth, but you also control either Nikola Tesla or Thomas Edison (Player 1 or 2 respectively) to collect power ups that fall down the screen. Scoring a 'goal' results in one of your light bulbs being smashed, and when you smash all of your opponents bulbs you win. Visually the game is nice enough, with enough added to the basic Pong concept without unnecessary clutter, and the game features some typical NES tunes and sound effects.

The game plays well enough, and despite controlling two objects at once never becomes overwhelming. You can play against the computer (with surprisingly competent AI), but as with Pong it is best played against another person. Indeed had this existed back in the NES days it probably would have done quite well as a multiplayer game.

Overall Tesla Vs. Edison achieves what it sets out to do rather well, and while not offering much for single players is definitely worth a go with some friends.
