Street Defender v1.6

This is one of the games designed for use with the VR64, a set of virtual reality goggles for use with the C64.

Jim has designed them with twin screens to give a pseudo-3D effect. The game itself sees the player standing at a crossroads, rotating their view along the diverging streets as they try to fend off attacks from approaching enemies. Different weapons can be selected with the function keys and each has a limited ammo capacity.

When the enemies get close enough they start to attack the player, reducing their health. An interesting addition to this update was the ability to use the Atari Driving Controller (effectively a type of paddle that can be rotated) to rotate the player's view. Without the goggles it looks odd, and the graphics are not very sophisticated.
