This is a well-written version of Star Trek (which is available for other micros).

You are put in the position of Captain Kirk on the bridge of your ship with a mission to destroy the Klingons (That's right) who are invading Federation Space.

The game starts with a selection from five levels of skill. The difference being the number of Klingon ships to be destroyed and the time you have to destroy them. After your selection you get a title page and some music (This allows the Genie to set the game up). After a short time, the screen changes to a console which displays all the information required to play the game.

The game is played in real time and features a high resolution quadrant display, 8x8 galaxy, phasers, photon torpedoes, long range scans, damage reports, shield control plus impulse and warp drives. A very humorous part of the game is when you beam down onto planets and meet the local aliens, which can be useful in the game or not.

The game comes complete with an 8-page instruction manual which you need to read before starting.

The game combines a space shoot-'em-down game with decision making and a sense of adventure. The graphics do credit to the game and so far no two games have been the same. The sound effects are good and are relevant to the actions on the screen. This game is a must for all budding Star Trekkers. Although written for 32K new ROMs only, it can be enjoyed by all age groups with more than average lasting interest.
