This golf simulation takes its name from the well-known golf course, and promises a faithful reproduction of the eighteen holes. The title page is spectacular in colour and definition, with a picture of the clubhouse. That high standard of graphics is maintained throughout.

As with most computer golf games, you select the direction, club, and strength with which you wish to strike the ball. An added plus here is that you also have your reactions tested. The outcome decides whether the shot is true, or whether you hook, fade or slice the ball.

Once the ball is on the green, the display moves to a close up. Even the slope is taken into account as you attempt to putt. Again, there is a reaction test. This I found the most frustrating part - the strength of the putt is too sensitive to the test, and success is extremely difficult.

Apart from poor error-trapping of the INPUT responses, this is a well-written Basic program which could provide a lot of fun - once you've learned to putt!
