Escaping for a three ton Robot is Viking Software's idea of fun. With nine levels of difficulty it was not easy. You play the part of a human desperately trying to reach a console in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen - where you can free yourself from this gladiator-type battle by reaching the door and switching off the robot.

The game starts by displaying what looks very similar to the ice-blocks in the game Pengo, which are scattered randomly across the screen. Enter robot and survival is slim. By hiding behind the blocks you can fend it off for some time but just when you think you might make the console, it takes a jump and flattens you, leaving you for dead. Watch out for the deadly fire of its plasma gun.

You can make the console if you move with the speed of light and switch off the killer robot's power but when you do finally make it you will wonder if it's worth the trouble because the screen clears and you start again.

By using the function keys you can move in any direction, but be warned they are difficult to master and if you're not quick you could find that the robot has beaten you again. The cursor keys are another option and although they eliminate diagonal movement they are a great deal less confusing. Beware of hidden mines and, if it's any consolation, the robot is very often the victim.

The graphics are pretty poor and the controls and speed at which the robot moves in comparison to the human makes it a game you tire of quickly becauuse you never become sufficiently good at it to succeed.
