Pop 'n Pop
From Bubble Bobble to Rainbow Islands then on to Bust-A-Move, everyone's favourite Japanese puzzler stars, Bub and Bob, are the secret to a successful puzzle game. Now they're back in another colourful adventure! Pop 'n Pop is a classic arcade Tetris-style nail-biter involving a whole load of balloons and a fat man in a dragon costume. What more do you need?
All you have to do is match three or more balloons of the same colour, fire them at the cloud and watch them explode. If you get it wrong you'll be engulfed in an avalanche of nasty spit-covered rubber.
Everyone and anyone is liable to get sucked into the addictive puzzles, but in two player mode the action is even better as you strive to survive a continual onslaught of balloons whilst competing against a friend. With 100 puzzles, and a low, low price tag, puzzle fans will be hugging themselves with glee!
Second Opinion
Puzzle games are what the Game Boy Color was made for! The kind of game you can have a quick blast on when you're waiting for a bus or on a boring car journey.
Pop 'n Pop is a classic example too - cute characters, great ditties that play along in the background and infuriatingly addictive gameplay. If you're a seasoned videogame player then you will have undoubtedly come across very similar games in the past, but this new version from Konami has enough new elements and pizzazz to make it work for me!
