Grid of confidence

Do you find yourself intimidated by the complexities of a chess board? Then perhaps this package will give you confidence to find your way round a two dimensional grid.

Number Games provides six maths programs for children from eight years upwards and aims to improve their two dimensional spatial ability while giving practice in basic addition and subtraction.

Two of the games use the move of a chess knight and with the exception of one game they are played on a numbered grid, the object being to collect a target number or highest score.

Number Games

Most offer a choice of playing against the computer or a friend and are simple to understand.

Youngsters soon discover that random moves do not bring much success and that logic and strategy help tip the odds in their favour.

The graphics are well planned but not spectacular and the instructions are a bit untidy.

Although neither spectacular nor holding any surprises the package is good value for money.
