Golden Fleeced?

I wonder if anyone has told the software houses that run-of-the-mill platform games have gone out of fashion. It seems not.

The scenario is the standard collection of platform-filled rooms, each of which appears to be very much like the last, perhaps because it is. The object is to find the Golden Fleece, another shining example of the game's complete lack of originality.

The graphics are nothing special. Clearly there hasn't been much thought put into the designs of the characters or scenery - with the exception of the demon at the top of the screen who is very impressive. Using a sort of slide-rule, this happy fellow displays your energy levels with a sly glint in his eye.

Nightworld

Another disappointment was the tune - in the absence of a sound on/off key I was forced to take drastic action and disconnect the micro's loudspeaker.

I have one final complaint about Nightworld which is that the walls very often do not behave as they should. Call me old-fashioned, but when I encounter a wall I like to be met with a reassuring thud.

If you're looking for a game for Christmas, Nightworld will disappoint you - try and find something better.
