Total Game Boy

It's time to play ball!
This basketball sim is an update to the NBA "In The Zone" release last year and includes all original NBA teams and players. The graphics are still pretty decent and the perspective is definitely appropriate for this type of game. There are a whole load of features in this game, too, including Exhibition mode, Season mode and a Play-off mode. You can also take part in a mini-game called Shoot-out, where you can play against a computer opponent or another person if you have the Game Boy Color link cable. You must shoot a total of 25 balls into the basket around the three-point arc within the required time limit, and the one who has scored more baskets is the winner.
As we mentioned earlier, the game also features link-cable support which is always a good thing to test out with your buddies. You may find that the game will play a little slower than usual, but that's only because there is a whole load of information going back and forth through the cable at a constant rate.
The artificial intelligence can be a little on the strange side at times - for example, when you got for a shot at the basket and miss, the ball will drop down by your team's feet and they'll just stand there motionless waiting for you to pick it up. We've seen more action in a slug fight.
Overall, NBA In The Zone 2000 can be a little difficult at times but with a little bit of practice this ball-bouncing, slam dunkin' game can be very entertaining.
Second Opinion
This game holds many interesting features, but unfortunately it can prove to be very tricky at times, especially when you can't see which player you are controlling.
We all thought that the game would play better if it were two-on-two, as at least then you'd be able to keep an eye on your player.
