If you are learning the rudiments of music, this program should help your studies.

On occasions, I have been known to produce the odd note out of various musical instruments so I was naturally very interested. The tape comes with explanatory booklet, and overlay strip for computer keys.

There are many options. Perhaps one of the most interesting produces "notes on music". This demonstrates pitch, and duration, of notes, as well as all the rests. Also the time and key signatures are explained.

Music Master

If you fancy yourself as a composer you can replay and alter your own tune of up to 1,000 notes.

A few personal comments. I can never remember seeing a dotted semibreve rest. Perhaps they have just evaded me, or maybe I've been playing the wrong music. Don't all major scales have the form TTSTTTS? And I beleive that rhythm is just too complicated to be just placed under the general heading of time and bar line.

These comments are personal, and not intended to detract from the excellence of the program. Besides, I would assume that any serious student would have the guidance of a human tutor. I do feel, though, that the program may be priced out of the reach of the younger budding musician.
