Brace yourself, the Moomin posse are in town!
Moomin's Tale
Remember the Moomins TV show? Anyone who's getting on a bit will! Moomin's Tale is loads more exciting than that soppy cartoon and will appeal to you crazy platforming fans out there. The storyline sees the hippo-like Moomintroll taking part in a whole lorry-load of different adventures. One minute he's trying to find medicine for a sick friend, the next he's investigating a mysterious red light on top of a mountain!
Hippo
Each mission is broken up into separate sub-levels, with a special mini-game at the end of every stage. The main part of the action is platform-based, but there's enough extra bits and bobs to keep you from getting bored. For example, at the end of one level you have to race up a huge tree by frantically bashing the buttons Track & Field-style! Other parts see you roaming around maze-like pathways in search of hidden items. Some of these sections are a top laugh and provide a refreshing break from the main platforming action.
The controls are excellent and allow you to run about and bounce on the bad guys' heads in true Mario fashion! You can also collect secret items, which provide Moomintroll with lovely energy-restoring fruits!
Flippo
Graphically, the game is pretty cool. Moonintroll and the other characters are big, colourful and really well animated. It's like being in control of a cartoon! The music is also groovy and before long you'll be humming along to all the catchy little tunes. Overall, this is a top notch slice of platforming action. Don't be put off by the cute graphics, this one rocks!
Second Opinion
Awww... I remember the Moomins. It was one of those cartoons that you never really understood, but were always glued to as a kid - and when I was a kid (that's a long time ago now!) there were lots of cartoons like that.
I suppose in a strange way the Moomins were the equivalent of today's Pokemon - but you didn't have to catch them all!
