Conquer Evil Aliens

Galactic Attack

This is a space invaders type game that will run on any Colour Genie. It is well packaged and the index card gives clear instructions on how to load and play the game.

Once loaded the game runs automatically and starts by displaying the instruction page. Pressing F1 runs the game and the left and right arrow keys or the left joystick control gives left and right movement and to fire you use the up arrow key or '0' on the joystick pad. On side A of the tape is the keyboard version and on side B is the joystick version.

On now to playing the game. Three waves of aliens appear at the top of the screen worth 10, 20 and 30 or 20, 40 and 60 if in flight. Your job is to kill all these aliens before losing your three lives. Every so often these aliens charge down at you, firing away in a mad attempt to kill you. For every 3,000 points you are awarded, you get an extra ship although the program doesn't seem to get any harder the more points you get. Having said this, I have only reached 11,000 so far and since the score is turned into a rating this is not a very good score, rating only trainee pilot.

Galactic Attack is a well written machine code game which will present a serious challenge to the inexperienced games player, although experienced arcade players may find the game a little monotonous.
