Feud

This looks like being a very interesting game from the budget bracket, although the demo copy we received basically contained just the graphics. The feud is between two wizards and takes place across 96 of these delightful screens.

The aim is simply to destroy the other wizard by using magic spells or even hand-to-hand combat. Each wizard has a cauldron where he can mix up the spells and then rush off to try them out on the opponent. The spells are contained in a spell book at the bottom left of the screen: you can flick through its well-animated pages.

The ingredients for the spells have to be picked up from around the game. Most of them work only a limited number of times before you have to get more ingredients.

Other characters appear in the game and by casting spells on them, turning them into zombies or dopplegangers; you can use them to your advantage. There are lots of fun spells that let you teleport, speed up, shrink, shoot fireballs - a total of 12.

The gameplay wasn't much on show in the preview version. But by the time you read this Mastertronic should have the game out on the streets - watch out for it.
