Another title from the highly successful software house Firebird. Their software always feature good music while the actual program is loading but with this one, they've really gone over the top! A rather neat Mode 7 picture of an organ pops up and the appropriate keys are highlighted as the notes sound. The music itself is up to their usual standard. Also, there's a sound off option. Anyway, onto the game itself.

You guide this fat man Sam to collect sweets, keys, etc... avoiding virtually anything that moves. The characters are large, colourful and detailed, animation is nicely done, key response is good, the sound effects are good and you can even redefine the control keys. In fact, there's really nothing wrong with this game technically. Unfortunately, the game is just another platform and ladders game. I simply do not like P&L games any more. I have seen too many!

But for those of you who still get their kicks out of this type of game or if you've never seen a P&L game, you should find Fat Man Sam good fun.
