Chicken Of The Farm

God damn I could eat me some chicken right now just as long as it hasn't come from this farm! If you enjoy the idea of running onto a strange farm in a hallucinogenic haze then being chased by a madman with a chainsaw, you’ll love this game.

If, like me, you're not a masochist then you may want to observe the farm from a safe distance. Featuring 23 levels of rock hard platforming, annoying homing pigeons and a final chicken boss. You control a little frog that has to traverse the devious platform layouts and avoid the annoying birds that chase you around the level like Blinky on steroids. This is a frustration fest on the same levels as other more popular games - Super Meat Boy and or I Wanna Be The Guy. The difficulty lies in what the creators of the game call 'Frog Physics' which mainly means pressing the jump button requires timing.

The little frog hops around when holding left or right on the dpad so you have to time your jumps with the movement of his legs, otherwise you get less height or don’t jump at all. The graphics and music work well enough and it’s a competent little platformer. I just find it a little too frustrating to be something I’d come back to.
