Caverns

Caverns involves moving around vast caverns firing and collecting various objects and putting them in the correct place. Also knocking switches which are littered around is also part of the gameplay. Do this in the correct way and you will pass through the first phase, onto another base elsewhere!

The game is very much the same concept as Thrust - over the past few months there have been so many Thrust lookalikes that I am getting fed up with them. Your spaceship is lingering in your first base and is neatly drawn in 3D, but does not particularly show off the power of the Arc as it could.

The best course of action is to use your boost slowly as sometimes you can whizz off, unable to stop unless you have lightning reactions. Enemies in the game consist of objects which drip on you, bubbles and a strange centipede thing which I cannot see the use of as it appears not to harm you.

Other strange items, which I came across, were barriers which had to be shot at in order to remove and switches which play a major part in Caverns as they remove walls which are blocking your path. I found it irritating when the screen went dim as you hit one of the switches. Switches are located in varying difficulty areas i.e. some are really easy to shoot at whilst others extremely difficult.

Sound is not very well utilised with only the firing of the gun and a few other noises included. To sum up Caverns, the playing area is very large, which only experts will discover. Graphics are neat, but the sound could do with a complete rewrite to encourage you to play for longer.
