A skull worth fighting for?

Catwoman

She's physically fit and wears a cutsuit, whatever the weather. Who are we talking about? Catwoman of course! An image of an immensely strong lady springs to mind on the mention of this female - she can fight, is extremely fit and needs no man to depend upon and this image is certainly captured well in the game.

Good-looking Characters!

Catwoman has been asked by Talia (a rich, attractive female) to steal an ancient crystal skull from Gotham City Museum, presumably because of its great monetary worth. Catwoman declares that she is not prepared to steal this artefact... at least not for Talia! However, she becomes interested in nicking the valuable object for herself.

The first thing you notice about the game is the fantastically clear graphics. Much care has been taken to ensure that great detail is used for the best possible realistic effects. The characters look great when the guard dog appears, it's so scary you will break out in a sweat! Then there are security guards, of course, and the Gotham City Council obviously consider Catwoman to be such a threat that it is necessary to bring along the army too. Soldiers and miniature tanks can be found in later levels too.

Swinging Cat

Catwoman

Gotham City Museum is very heavily guarded and there is every need for this, because on each floor there are several priceless items. Our feline friend has many obstacles to avoid and the tasks aren't easy. The game moves fast, with no time to hang around, although hanging is something Catwoman does well when avoiding the guards. The variation of moves is impressive - you can jump, swing and shoot, although it takes a bit of practice to recall specific functions of the various buttons.

What we didn't like about Catwoman has how tough level 1 was. You will be pleasantly surprised when you reach level 2 though - it's a fast rooftop chase to snatch the precious skull. The screen is continuously side scrolling meaning you must act first and think later, so it's great fun being a quick-witted baddie. It makes an interesting change from being the 'do-gooder' all the time!

Second Opinion

Catwoman is a game with a challenge, although at times it does appear that you're treading the same ground again and again, which can be rather frustrating.

Catwoman

There are few rewards in this game so you have to be prepared for simply facing your challenges and getting on with the task of avoiding problems in order to take your ultimate reward - the ancient crystal skull.

A game that you will want to conquer!
