Captain Blood

First on Infogrames Pocket Soft label, this is the weird tale of how Captain Blood has to hunt the galaxy for his five clones who are sapping his life force.

It features fabulous graphics throughout, a sampled Jean Michel Jarre soundtrack (Ethnicolor from Zoolook), and an exhilarating 3D flight-through-canyons sequence. Unfortunately, completing the quest is made very difficult by an impenetrable talk-to-aliens-via-icons-system which only translates alienspeak into gibberish English.

If this wasn't the most important part of the game I wouldn't mind, but it is, so I do.

Atari ST

Captain Blood's high points are very high, but the gameplay boils down to not very much at all, unfortunately.

Amiga

No real improvements over the Atari ST version, apart from a few sounds here and there. And the 3D bit is slower.
