Bach Organ is a program that will transform the Computer Genie's keyboard (all keys and ROMs) into musical keys. It is a Basic program with machine code calls, and all instructions appear on screen.

Four rows of seven notes make up the musical side of things and, unlike some programs, you can play up to three notes at a time. You can also select from 24 musical scale-keys (e.g. A minor) so that all your notes are in the same key - great for playing along to music.

After selecting the key input prompts appear for selection of volume and pitch for each of the four banks of notes. The organ is then ready to be played.

Bach produces reasonably clear sound but chords occasionally sound muffled, and whilst playing the screen has irritating interference patterns as the Machine Code routines reside in the UDG area.

I found Bach easy to use and understand. Bach is available on the Gumboot label (members' price £5.75) and is good value for money.
