L' Abbage Des Morts =================== Brief ----- A Cathar escaping from Crusaders, a hideout in the night, an Evil Secret buried below... Welcome to the Abbey of the Dead. The Game -------- In the 13th century, the Cathars, who preach about good Christian beliefs, were being expelled by the Catholic Church out of the Languedoc region in France. One of them, called Jean Raymond, found an old church in which to hide, not knowing that, beneath its ruins, lay buried an ancient evil. Now fate will test his faith... How To Play ----------- Terrible secrets are waiting for you, but before facing your destiny, there are a few things that you should know: 1. God's temple is the heart, so keep your hearts safe as your most valuable item. 2. One heart is taken away if you touch any creature or moving object. The game will be over if you lose all your hearts. 3. Some brothers left behind messages that may help you find the hidden truth. 4. Use mechanisms to open doors and trapdoors. 5. Walk near a Checkpoint cross to save your position. If you die, you will be returned to the last cross you have touched. 6. Collect the twelve crosses of your brothers to create a spell against The Evil one. And remember this: Some illusions can cloud your eyes, some evil can freeze your heart, but faith alone is the strongest weapon... Game Credits ------------ L'Abbage des Morts was originally created in 2010 during the vacations of Locomalito and Gryzor87 in southern France. the game was created for modern coputers but using the style of the old Spectrum to make the experience deeper and darker into the player's mind. In 2014, Darkhorace decided to port the game into the real Spectrum, carefully rewriting the entire game. Once the port was out, Retroworks created the first cassette edition of the game, finally closing the circle.
