The Balgorian Trilogy ===================== Seeker Of Gold -------------- Accompany BULBO on his quest for the fabled treasure of the mighty dragon SMOG. On this 'epic' journey you may encounter such famed travellers as 'Grand Alf' and 'The Dwarves', not to mention the notorious and sometimes hungry, 'TROLLS'. You will need to cross rivers, climb mountains and do battle with untold enemies but it will all be worth it in the end!!!! (Famous last words ........) Bulbo And The Lizard-King ------------------------- Yet another tale of a 'Seeker of Gold' ............. Accompany BULBO on his quest to vanquish Stratos the 'Lizard-King'. Guide him in his choice of travelling companion. Would you choose a 'Giant' or an 'Elf' or even a 'Wizard' ?? Bulbo will encounter Orcs, Bears, Wolves and Dragons. He will have to cross vast chasms, swiftly flowing rivers and massive deep lakes. It will take great courage and a quick mind, but most of all it will take ....... YOU! Bulbo And The Lizard-King Hints ------------------------------- Once you have chosen your party of companions just type 'PARTY' or 'P' at any time in order to display who is with you. Choose wisely, success depends upon it!!! This program will accept such commands as 'TAKE HOLD OF THE DONKEY'S ROPE' and 'LOWER THE DONKEY DOWN THE WELL' as well as the usual 'TAKE SWORD' type of command. Movement is by the standard 'NORTH' or 'N' commands, there is no need to prefix this with 'GO'. Also in most cases 'IN' will suffice to enter an open door. Sometimes it pays to kill but at others a bit of kindness goes a long way. If BULBO cannot carry out a certain task then perhaps one of his companions can, so to find out just ask them in the following manner ..... 'ASK THE DWARF TO HELP'. At the 'end', you will need FOUR companions with BULBO and that does NOT include a donkey. Fuddo And Slam -------------- ..... laden down with gold and with GULLEM'S ring safely tucked in his pocket, BULBO returned to his comfortable little burrow and decided to settle down and enjoy a more peaceful existence. However boredom set in and in order to alleviate this he turned to 'BOGGLING', a sport much beloved by 'SHYRE' folk. Sadly for BULBO he was a very bad player and soon all his gold was gone. On one 'never to be forgotten' day he wagered the ring in a last ditch attempt to recoup his lost wealth ..... but sadly he lost that as well!! He slunk back to his burrow and there he adopted the life of a recluse ........ Fuddo And Slam Hints -------------------- On your travels you will encounter many various and different characters, such as Dwarves, Elves, Orcs and Dragons, as well as a few from more modern times. But your and FUDDO'S most useful companion will surely be SLAM, so seek him out and talk him into helping. To do this, first get FUDDO to TALK TO SLAM and then when Slam is 'listening' get FUDDO to tell him what to do ... e.g. KILL DRAGON or CUDDLE ORC or simply ask him for help by using TALK TO SLAM followed by ASK FOR HELP WITH DONKEY or whatever it is you need help with. Gullem is an outright coward, so if there is more than ONE person present he will not show his face. Some 'helpful' words are ... WORN, SPEAK, GIVE, SEARCH, BACKPACK TURN & SWAP. Fuddo And Slam Notes -------------------- These programmes will accept ALL standard commands with the addition of both 'RAM SAVE' and 'RAM LOAD'. Use these for quick 'recall' but resort to the standard save or load routines for a more permanent record of your progress. Use the commands 'RUSTIC ON' or 'RUSTIC OFF' to swap between the different typefaces.
