Explorer ======== Explorer -------- Take to the stars in your space fighter and scramble through six dangerous and diverse enemy zones, wreaking as much havoc as possible on your mission to destroy the alien base. Each time you succeed, you're moved on quickly to another battle, another war but that's the life of a heroic space pilot! Blast, blast and blast some more in Luca Bordoni's Boriel's Basic tribute to the classic arcade hit, Scramble. "A first release of this game was written in Basic in far 1989, entitled Space Chase. It was a weak attempt to play a vertical clone of my favourite arcade game. In 2015, the code was totally rewritten and compiled with Boriel's ZX Basic, revisiting the graphics and bringing a bit of shine. Three years later, the game is published by Bum Fun Gaming, featuring a new loading screen inspired by John Harris' sci-fi art." Luca Bordoni, 2018 Instructions ------------ Fly through six heavily defended zones in your mission to reach, and destroy, the enemy base. On your way you will find some things that may help you. Shoot red fuel tanks to gain fuel (important) and shoot purple tanks for bonus points. You can also get points by shooting the alien defences and other things in the environment. Game Controls ------------- 5 - Left, 8 - Right, 0 - Fire Default controls are compatible with a cursor-style joystick. Scoring ------- Points will be awarded as follows for successful hits: Missiles ... 50 points UFOs ... 80 points Fuel tanks ... 100 points Oil tanks ... ??? points Base ... 800 points If, and when, you finish your mission, a flag will appear at the bottom right of the screen. This means you've earned a space defence corps banner, and can brag about it in the rec room. However, you'll not be seeing the rec room as once the mission is complete it's straight back to the battlefront - war never sleeps!
