Grand Prix ========== Introduction ------------ Have you the potential to be a champion Formula 1 driver? Find out when you race on these 8 famous circuits around the world. For 1 or 2 players. Joysticks required. Selecting Game Options ---------------------- You will be asked to select various options when the game starts. Difficulty level affects momentum, oil and the tracks and crashes. Tracks are numbered from 1 - 8 are are taken from the following Grand Prix racetracks around the world: 1. Indianapolis, U.S.A. 2. Monza, Italy 3. Nivelles, Belgium 4. Osterreichring, Austria 5. Brands Hatch, U.K. 6. Jarama, Spain 7. Monte Carlo, Monaco 8. Clermont Ferrand, France The number of laps is the length of the race and can be numbered from 1 - 9. Number of players can be 1 or 2. Each player requires a joystick. If only one player is playing, the joystick should be plugged into the right hand joystick port. The first player will be driving the red car, and the second player will be driving the green car. Time is displayed on the real time clock at the top of the screen with lap counters on either side. An arrow at the start line shows the direction to drive around the track. At low levels of difficulty your car will start and stop immediately, but at higher levels you will have to slow down for corners. Collisions ---------- Collisions can occur if you: a) leave the track, or b) hit another car. At lower levels of difficulty, the collision might not be fatal, but at higher levels you won't get another chance! Oil --- Oil will appear as blue patches on the track at some of the higher levels of difficulty. It is very slippery - so drive through it carefully or you might not be able to stop. Drive fast and free!! Game Controls ------------- Movement is controlled by the joysticks. Point the joystick in the direction you want to go and press the Fire button to accelerate. Release the Fire button to apply your brakes. Loading ------- CLOAD (ENTER) RUN (ENTER) Note that for a faster game, you can load the game with the following poke: CLOAD (ENTER) POKE 65495,0 (ENTER) RUN (ENTER) This will double the speed of the game, but you will not be able to use your cassette deck after this without turning the Dragon off and on again. Note also that not all Dragons will be able to cope with this POKE statement.
