Tetris ====== Introduction ------------ Tetris is a game of skill, logic and speed of judgement in which a variety of shapes falling down the screen must be rotated and slotted into such a position as to complete a whole horizontal line. When a line is completed, it is removed and all lines above it are moved down, creating space for more shapes on the screen. When fifteen lines have been completed, the level has also been completed, and you move on to the next level in which the shapes fall down faster. A further fifteen lines must now be completed on this level. If the pile of shapes reaches the top of the screen, the game is over. Extra points can be scored for completing a level quickly and for scoring a "Tetris" - completing four lines in one move (i.e. dropping a long green block vertically into an appropriate gap). Game Controls ------------- Tetris requires one joystick, plugged into the right hand port. To control the shapes, move the joystick left and right, and press the button to rotate the shapes in an anti-clockwise sense. Pushing the joystick down drops the shapes quickly until the joystick is released. The use of this feature is essential if you wish to attain the time bonus. P - Pause Game (The pause will not be effective until the shape has been fitted - This stops you pausing the game in order to work out where the next shape will go!) Any key resumes after a pause. Loading ------- 1. Insert disk 2. Type BOOT The game will start automatically when loaded.
