Temple Of Zoren =============== Temple Of Zoren --------------- An adventure game by Mike Meineck Terran Security classes it as a suicide mission - and then chose you! Now, after fighting your way through the Zoreen guardships, out of fuel and with a damaged computer, your survival prospects look even slimmer. With Guard Robots and Secret Police ringing the outworld capital, even penetrating the Ringwall would be bad enough. Only Agent 6809 would stand a chance, but, with the shipboard Reincarnation Unit on the blink, even *your* survival looks questionable. So grit your teeth, hit the retros and prepare for the mission that could end the Rimwars! Introduction ------------ The Rimwars are at a critical stage and Zoreen loyalty to the Outworlds Empire is wavering. With the Zoreen battlefleet commanders in a mood to defect to Terra, it came as no surprise when Galactic Security despatched you on an espionage mission to their home planet's ancient capital, Zoren. Your briefing was explicit: 1. Return with the Golden Orb (the symbol of Outworld power), thought to be hidden in the Temple of Zoren. 2. Bring back a map of Zoren, without which an attack by Terran ground forces would probably fail. 3. Obtain a sample of the new Laser Gun pack, issued to Zoreen troopers. An extended battle with Empire guard patrols, as you approached your planetary destination, has depleted your Personal Transporter's fuel and, as you descend through the Zorren atmosphere, it is clear that circumstances have forced you into a fourth, vital mission. Without a new Fuel Module, there can be no return to Earth! Intelligence about Zoren is sparse. It is known that the city is ringed by aliens, Guard Robots and roving packs of Secret Police. Survival prospects are slim, but the fact that your ship is fitted with a D32 computer gives you a chance. Its teleport capability and Reincarnation Pack (known in the Intelligence World as the "Magic Powers") can save you in a terminal situation, but the D32 power cells cannot be relied upon after their recent pounding and the R will not be able to assist you indefinitely! Mission Briefing Summary ------------------------ 1. Land on the outskirts of Zoren, trying not to leave a vapour trail as you land (or the aliens may be waiting for you) 2. Find a way to break into the city and locate the Temple. 3. Explore the Temple and find the Golden Orb. 4. Return to your Transporter and DROP into it: a) The Golden Orb of Zoren b) A map of the city of Zoren c) A laser Pack d) A fuel module Commands -------- The following commands are understood by your D32: N, S, E, W - Go North, South, East, West NE, SE, NW, SW - North-East, South-East, North-West, South-West U, D - Up, Down I, O - In, Out TAKE [name of object], DROP [name of object] LOOK - Describe location fully INVEN - List an inventory of all the objects which you are carrying Many other commands are understood by the D32, but its manual was destroyed in a short-circuit fire during your approach battles and you will have to determine acceptable commands by trial and error. ENTER anything that might possibly help and watch out for clues which could assist you in your struggle against the aliens and your attempts to break into their locked rooms. Listen carefully to any advice given by the D32 and keep your nerve. The D32 is programmed to despise cowardice! Do not rely on the RP's "Magic Powers" too heavily. A dead cell in the Reincarnation Pack could leave you just as dead. Good luck, Agent 6809! Remember that the '09' rating gives you a licence to kill and may the Force of the Dragon go with you!
