Stockmarket =========== Introduction ------------ Have you got what it takes to be rich? There are more ways to get rich than bashing trolls on the head! Try this for a change. Contend with a fluctuating exchange, tax investigators (*much* worse than Dragons!), bullish opponents (who weaken the market, sending prices down...), impatient bank managers (who will force you into liquidation at the drop of a fiver) and consortium takeovers (which can make or break you...) as you race towards your first million and victory. Stockmarket is a multi-player financial simulation that is easy to learn and *very* addictive to play. It will let you live out your fantasies of power, money and taking the ultimate risk! An adventure of the mind that will tax you to the limit - and could just put you on line for a whole new career! The Game -------- Stockmarket is a game for 1 to 6 players in which you buy and sell shares in four mining companies. As in the real world, the prices of these shares will fluctuate over a period of time; obviously you try to buy the shares when they are cheap and sell them when their price rises. The first person to make a million pounds wins the game. Having loaded and run the program, you will be asked if you want instructions. If you choose to read them, they will be displayed before the program asks you to specify how many players wish to take part. Enter a number between 1 and 6 and press RETURN. The names of the participating players should now be entered, and finally the degree of difficulty may be selected (1 is easy, 4 is hard). The players may now buy and sell shares; each player completing his day's dealings in sequence. If at any time the "Newsflash - All Market Dealings Suspended" is displayed then no further buying or selling may take place on that day. All players whose turns would follow this announcement forego any dealings and must press Q until the end of the day is reached at which point the Market News is displayed. You are now asked whether you wish to end the game; if you decide to stop all your shares will be sold off at their current market value and this total, less the £1,000 that you were advanced at the start of the game, will be displayed together with your score which is based on profits made, the number of days trading and the difficulty level selected. You should remember that any, or all, of the companies in which you bought shares may go bankrupt; in which case you lose all the money you have invested. Whilst it is wise to spread your money across a number of companies to reduce the effects of such a catastrophe, the occasional risk may pay substantial dividends. Loading ------- CLOAD (ENTER)
