The Game
--------
Find the word or face the perils of the deep!

In this word recognition game, you are the prisoner
of a band of cut-throat pirates who have decided to
have some fun by forcing you to walk the plank!

Your only hope is to identify the word on the screen
before you reah the end of the plank.

You will be surprised at what happens if you do.

Pirates is an educational game which has been
designed to help develop word recognition skills in
children.

Pirates is provided with four data files, each of which
contains 25 selected words. However, parents can
enter up to 25 words of their own choice which can
be saved on tape for further use. In this way, parents
can make a valuable contribution towards extending
their child's vocabularly.



How To Play
-----------
1. Follow the loading instructions.
2. On loading, the program will run automatically and
you will be given the option of entering your own words
or using one of the data files supplied with Pirates (or
one of the files you have created). The first data file
has the filename "FILE1". There are four files in total.
3. Choose option 1 to enter your own words or option 2
to use a pre-recorded file of data.
4. Follow the instructions provided from then on.
5. When the screen shows Press Key, you can press
ESC key to return to the original menu screen.



Gameplay
--------
1. You are presented with a series of empty spaces 
representing a word.
2. Select a letter that you think may be included in
the word.
3. If the letter that you selected is contained in the
word, then it will appear in the correct position. If
not you will be forced to take one step along the plank.
4. Continue this process until you find the hidden word
or...

...death!
