Birdie Barrage ============== Playing The Game ---------------- Once the game has loaded, you will be offered a choice of golf course at which to play. Each hole of the selected course will be graphically presented on-screen. You will first by prompted for a choice of club. The clubs available are as follows: Woods 1-4, enter 1W or 3W etc. Irons 1-9 & S(sand wedge), enter 4 or 8, etc. You will then see a direction indicator on the bottom of the screen. Set the direction indicator on the bottom of the screen. Set the direction of the shot by using the following: Anti-clockwise, enter Z. Clockwise, enter X. Rapid Rotate, hold down CTRL at the same time. Adjust the strength of the shot with the up and down cursor keys, then press RETURN. Once you have successfully reached the green, the screen will change to show the green and you will be prompted for direction and strength. When playing shots you must take into account wind strength and direction which is shown as an arrow through the tee, the stronger the wind the higher the number indicated in the tee box (in the range 1 to 5). The wind will change between holes, but will stay constant during the playing of the hole. The Courses ----------- 1. Turnberry Ailsa Course. One of the finest Scottish links courses, set along the dramatic coastline of Turnberry Bay. A fair test of your golfing skills, but don't stray too far off the tee! 2. The Belfry Brabazon Course. Venue of Great Britain and Europe's famous victory over the United States in the 1985 Ryder Cup. Woods and water make this a tricky course. 3. Carnoustie Championship Course. A long, tough, testing course. Watch out for that dangerous Barry Burn on the 18th. 4. Acorn Park Old Course A gentle inland course, set amongst lakes and woods. A good course to begin on, but beware the lakes! 5. Acorn Park Pitch & Putt The junior of the two courses. Still a very tough course though as you really should hit the green from every tee!
