Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

Indy starts this platform scroller dressed as a Boy Scout. He wanders from right to left avoiding baddies, setting off traps with his whip and climbing up and down ropes.

There are four levels, the first two set in the catacombs under a mountain and the others on an airship. As you get further into the mountain the screen gets darker, until you're thumping your monitor in disgust. Lateral though provides the answer - touch the torches that line Indy's route. Unfortunately, most of the other puzzles aren't much better than this. The Indy sprite is a large affair which moves as if it's trying to overcome rigor mortis. The rest of the baddies and all the moving scenery are similarly encumbered. Oh, and once you're used to the jerkiness, you have to pit your wits against the poor joystick response as well.

Verdict

Indy plods along as you battle with the poor programming. It really would be far better to spend your dosh on hiring out the vid and giving your fingers a rest.

In Brief

  1. Can run on single-sided disk drives
  2. If you want a platform game, go and buy another one - they're all better than this!
