Linked reviews are available to view in full on this site.
Time Soldier (Electrocoin) (Commodore 64/128)
Good fun, but for cassette owners in particular it might be too frustrating.
International 3D Tennis (Palace) (Commodore 64)
A superlative tennis sim which should appeal to everyone!
Powerboat USA: Offshore Superboat Racing (Accolade) (Commodore 64/128)
A visually attractive race game which lacks essential playability.
Hot Rod (Activision) (Commodore 64)
Slow paced, repetitive racing action that was done far better in Super Sprint.
Impossamole (Gremlin) (Amiga 500)
Fairly standard arcade adventuring... Not particularly addictive but choice of levels offers instant variety. Overall, far too tough to be enjoyable.
Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters (Domark) (Commodore 64)
Very playable, especially with a friend.
Carrier Command (Rainbird) (Commodore 64)
An impressive conversion, sadly lacking crucial variety in the arcade element.
Bloodwych Data Disks: Vol 1 (Mirrorsoft/Imageworks) (Amiga 500)
Very similar to the original Bloodwych but with enhancements, providing more of the same thrills, spills, and adventure... but better.
Chronoquest II (Psygnosis) (Amiga 500)
I initially had my doubts - it all seemed very odd and I managed to get nowhere very quickly. But slowly, pennies dropped and the game opened out to show itself to be at least as good as its predecessor.
The Colony (Mindscape) (Commodore 64/128)
Perseverance and regular position saving are the secret to advancement.
Pirates (MicroProse) (Amiga 500)
All graphics border on excellent, sound is good and gameplay exciting.
A Dark Sky Over Paradise (Interactive) (Commodore 64/128)
I have to admire Interactive Technology for tackling an adventure such as this because creating a good scenario on the moon is difficult as it's hard to generate an atmosphere.
The Golden Fleece (17 Bit Software) (Amiga 500)
Although it has its share of oddities, they're far outweighed by positive points... Recommended to anyone who's forgotten what a text-only adventure is like and who fancies a quick quest with no intruding graphics.
The Third Courier (Accolade) (Amiga 500)
If exploring Berlin, talking to drunks and visiting every accessible establishment on every street in an effort to find the odd clue sounds like fun to you, well, I recommend this sleuthing RPG. Otherwise, forget it.
Space Quest III (Sierra On-Line) (Amiga 500)
Animation of Roger and all other characters is effective, considering the size and complexity of the game, and detail in background (and foreground) graphics is very good.
Dragon's Lair (Encore) (Commodore 64/128)
Time hasn't been kind to this one. Graphics are unimpressive, and gameplay is minimal - as in all conversions. For hardcore coin-op fans only.
Parallax (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
The ability to continue from the zone you died in reduces frustration, while the game format remains novel and fun.
Head Over Heels (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
The imagination shown throughout is overwhelming, both in graphics and the superb puzzles which will keep you hooked for months.
Slapfight (The Hit Squad) (Commodore 64/128)
The graphics are attractive and, given sufficient controlled aggression, you can survive the blizzard of bullets.
Black Tiger (US Gold/Capcom) (Commodore 64)
A dull and uninspired coin-op gets a bland conversion.
Space Harrier II (Grandslam) (Commodore 64)
Not much different from the mediocre original. I suppose you'll like it if you like the coin-op though.
Their Finest Hour: The Battle Of Britain (Lucasfilm/US Gold) (Amiga 500)
A hugely complex well thought-out game which is nevertheless very easy to play.
